Kanat Paints & Coatings
You build. We protect.

Kanat has manufactured paints since 1986 and runs two plants in Türkiye, at İzmir and Osmaniye, with a combined capacity of 50 million litres a year. Its protective unit designs and develops liquid coatings for manufacturers of steel structures, pipelines, storage tanks, wind towers and technological equipment, and for the contractors who apply them on site.

Everything below is supplied in Iraq by Dheyaa Albadia Company as the registered distributor. Quantities, tinting and packing are confirmed per order; no prices are published on this page.

Protective coating ranges

Six application ranges, each with a paint system built for the substrate and the exposure. Primer, intermediate and topcoat are specified per project, with dry film thicknesses set against the required corrosion category.

06 ranges
Refinery steel structures and columns under construction Range 01

Structural Steel

Ports · bridges · buildings

Steel structures in ports, airports, bridges and occupied buildings need effective protection against corrosion, and that starts with choosing the right paint system. Kanat works with the client to select a system that complies with ISO 12944, then has it qualified by independent laboratories.

  • Weldable shop primers for fabrication yards
  • Multi-coat systems for C3 to C5 corrosion categories
  • Slip-factor qualified systems for bolted connections
  • UV-resistant topcoats for exposed structures
  • Galvanized and pre-treated substrates
Tested to ISO 12944-6 ISO 12944-9 EN 1090-2 ISO 17652-2 ISO 16474-3
Large-diameter steel pipeline with a coated internal lining in a trench Range 02

Pipelines

Water · fuel · gas

  • Potable water mains and running water lines
  • Wastewater treatment facilities
  • Power-plant cooling water pipes
  • Petroleum and petrochemical product lines
  • Gas pipelines and port piling pipes

Large steel storage tank with a freshly coated external shell Range 03

Storage Tanks

Linings & external

Tank coatings have to resist corrosion at high performance and stay inert towards the stored liquid, so that the product quality is never affected. Kanat’s tank range is developed and trialled at its own tank farm before it is specified.

  • Internal linings for crude oil and refined fuel tanks
  • Jet-fuel and aviation-fuel service linings
  • Immersion-grade systems for water and chemical tanks
  • External atmospheric systems for tank shells and roofs
  • Maintenance and repair coatings for tanks in service

Coated wind turbine towers in a coastal wind farm Range 04

Wind Towers

Onshore & offshore

Kanat specialises in coating wind turbine tower sections and develops its systems alongside the growth of wind power. Alongside conventional solvent-borne products it has introduced high-solids alternatives that reduce solvent use while keeping the service life.

  • Tower interior and exterior qualified systems
  • Onshore and offshore wind tower systems
  • Approved to turbine manufacturers’ own specifications
  • High-solids, lower-solvent alternatives
  • Systems for varied environments and tower geometries
Tested to ENERCON QS TOW 30-6 ISO 12944-6 ISO 12944-9

Distribution transformer with coated radiator panels Range 06

Electrical Transformers

Power sector

A dedicated coating line for the transformer industry, designed specifically for distribution transformers and radiator or cooler applications, and approved to ISO 12944. Kanat backs it with technical support and after-sales service rather than a product-only supply.

  • Distribution transformer tanks and enclosures
  • Radiator and cooler assemblies
  • Power-sector switchgear and cabinets

Certified systems and standards

Kanat systems are qualified by independent third-party laboratories. Each row below is a coating system, identified by its Kanat product codes, together with the test it passed, the standard the test follows and the laboratory that issued the certificate. Codes joined by + form one multi-coat system; codes joined by & are alternative products covered by the same certificate.

Technical services

Kanat’s professional technical services team works on the paint line, not only in the laboratory. A coating store or paint line is unique: the substrate, the equipment and the technique all shape the result, so the analysis is done on your process.

Environmental direction

R&D priorities

Kanat’s R&D programme for the coming years is focused on reducing the environmental load of the products themselves, and it reports a solar energy implementation aimed at the Paris Climate Agreement target of a 55% cut in carbon emissions.

  • Products with lower VOC levels
  • Solvent-free materials
  • Water-based technologies
  • Higher performance at lower film thicknesses
  • Chemicals screened against the REACH regulation and the SVHC list

Manufacturing & capacity

İzmir & Osmaniye

İzmir produces 28 million litres of paint and 8 million litres of resin a year; Osmaniye adds 12 million litres of paint and 2 million litres of resin. Total capacity is 50 million litres a year, with resin produced in house.

Certified management systems

Five standards
  • ISO 9001 — quality management
  • ISO 14001 — environmental management
  • ISO 45001 — occupational health and safety
  • ISO 27001 — information security management
  • IATF 16949 — automotive industry quality management

R&D and test capability

Certified since 2015

A government-certified R&D centre since October 2015, allocating more than 4% of yearly revenue to research. In-house testing covers paint application, mechanical, performance and structural analysis tests, so a system can be qualified before it reaches a third-party laboratory.
